Channeling a few of my awesome friends, I forced myself to do something that terrified me tonight. I went and took the lead class at the gym, which included lead climbing, and taking a ~10ft lead fall.
My heart didn't really stop pounding for over 30 minutes after I was back on the ground, but I did manage to do it -- I didn't even cling to the hold when I was supposed to fall, nor break into tears. I did yell at the top of my voice as I was falling, everyone cheered :)
Next weekend, if all goes well, I hope to take the actual lead test with DC!
